Springville, UT, July 1, 2005 – Harold R. Wing, CEO, President and Founder, of Wing Enterprises was named a winner by professional services firm Ernst & Young LLP for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year® 2005 Awards in Salt Lake City in the consumer products category. Mr. Wing was selected from 23 finalists in Utah by an independent panel of judges comprised of local business, academic and community leaders and announced at an awards banquet on June 30th at the Salt Palace Convention Center.

From its modest beginning in the Wing family carport, Mr. Wing has stimulated and directed the growth of Wing Enterprises, Inc. into an international, multi-million dollar manufacturing and marketing corporation. Since that time, Mr. Wing, working with his sons Art and Doug, has patented seven improvements on Little Giant Ladder Systems and successfully marketed three special-purpose ladders, a scaffold system and introduced a number of profitable ladder accessories.

Mr. Wing will be eligible for consideration for the Entrepreneur Of The Year 2005 national program. Winners in several national categories, as well as the overall national Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year, will be announced at the annual awards gala in Palm Springs, Calif. on November 19, 2005.

The Little Giant Ladder Company Launches Another Success - 3/21/2005

SPRINGVILLE, UT, March 21, 2005 — Wing Enterprises, the maker of the celebrated Little Giant Ladder System®, announced today the launch of a new line of ladders for home and professional use. This innovative line of ladders, known as the Ultra Step™, has been designed specifically to provide a lightweight alternative for those who need a 5’ – 8’ A-frame, and a ladder that can handle staircases or go vertically against walls and corners. “Everyone knows of the versatility and quality of the main Little Giant® 1A line that is featured on television,” said Hal Wing, Wing founder and CEO. “Our experience has shown us, though, that there were people out there, such as painters, plumbers, electricians, industrial shops, and homemakers, that were looking for something lightweight, secure, compact, and versatile for strictly indoor use. Something that has Little Giant quality and stability, and also half the price.” The Little Giant® Ultra Step has a unique tripod-like design that gives the ladder Little Giant stability while delivering significant reduction in weight. Using the easy-to-use mechanisms well known to those who have ladders from Wing’s main lines, the ladder can adjust to fit staircases, sloping ground, and ramps. Additionally, with the tripod leg in the vertical position, users can get right up close to walls or corners, where with traditional A-frame ladders, the higher you go, the further you are from your work space.

As has been shown in numerous tests and comparisons, safety and quality have always been a priority at Little Giant. As such, the Ultra Step is rated up to 300 lbs, and meets or exceeds all applicable OSHA and ANSI standards. Additionally, Little Giant makes a fiberglass version of the Ultra Step for safe use for those who need to work with electrical components. “The Ultra Step has quickly become my ladder of choice. I like it”, said Brian Ekins, an electrician working in the Salt Lake area. “It is easy to pack around, and versatile enough to do pretty much anything I need to do – stairs, up against walls, multiple sizes. And the quality of construction and design is the best I’ve ever seen.”
