Q #4: Which size is best?

A: It is difficult to recommend a particular size, as everyone has different needs. Please look over the following size comparisons to get a good idea which ladder will work best for you. If you're still not sure which size you should get, remember that it is better to overestimate your ladder height needs, because you can always shorten a telescoping ladder if it is too long. The same can't be said of a ladder which is too short. Almost all of the ladders that are returned to us are exchanged for the next bigger size.

* The Model 22 stores at 5' 7" feet high, and opens to a 5, 6, 7, 8, or 9 foot stepladder. In the extension position, it extends from 11 - 19 feet, in one foot increments. * The Model 26 stores at 6' 7" feet high, and opens to a 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, or 11 foot stepladder. In the extension position, it extends from 13 - 23 feet, in one foot increments. Q #5: Why is the model 17 only 15 feet high and the Model 22 only 19 feet high?

A: This is how OSHA classifies all extension and telescoping ladders , and is common among all brands. They take a measurement of all the little ladder sections laid end to end, and classify the ladder as that height. So, a typical 24 foot extension ladder really isn't 24 feet high because you lose some of the ladder height the overlap of each adjacent ladder section. There are other criteria involved in designating the height of a particular ladder, but this is basically how OSHA has established a standard in labeling extension ladders. More information can be found at OSHA's website ( www.osha.gov ).

Q #6: Should I get a Type 1AA, Type 1A, or Type 1 Little Giant Ladder?

A: The Type 1AA is the top of the line model in the Little Giant Ladder lineup . It meets the new OSHA 375lb Extra Heavy Duty Special Industrial Rating for ladders . The Type 1AA uses thicker gauge aluminum and extra bracing to as compared to the original Type 1A to achieve the increased workload capacity. The incredibly tough Type 1AA is an excellent choice for extra heavy industrial use, construction work, or for the demanding homeowner. This is the ultimate Little Giant Ladder! It comes with a Lifetime Warranty (6 year warranty for ladders purchased prior to 2005). Type 1AA ladders make up approximately 15% of Little Giant Ladder sales.

The Type 1A is the "Original" Little Giant Ladder , having been in production since 1972. This is the model currently being marketed “as seen on TV”. Ladder meets the OSHA 300lb Extra Heavy Duty Rating. The Type 1A "Original" is engineered to be a rugged ladder; built for incredible durability, maximum weight limits, and years of dependable service. The Type 1A "Original" is an excellent choice for heavy commercial or household use, or for the demanding person seeking a rock solid versatile ladder. It comes with a Lifetime Warranty (5 year warranty for ladders purchased prior to 2004). Q #7: What are the Little Giant Ladders made of?

A: Little Giant Ladders are made of 6061-T6 Aircraft Quality Aluminum and they meet certification requirements of OSHA/ANSI (US), UL (US), CSA ( Canada ), QAS ( Australia ), TUV (EU), and MIL-SPEC (US Military certification).

Q #8: I'm just a homeowner, not a professional. Do I really need a ladder this good?

Most of the cheaper ladders out there are made in China and Korea, and their construction and quality is sub-par compared to the American made Little Giant Ladder. If you have to replace that cheaper ladder even once or twice in a lifetime with another cheap ladder, then its value quickly disappears.

Besides, what is your health worth? Underwriters Laboratories reports that there were 163,000 emergency room visits last year due to ladder accidents. Many of these accidents were the direct result of using cheap, flimsy ladders, and could have been avoided if a quality ladder was used. The Little Giant Ladder is by far the safest, strongest, and most versatile ladder in the world. Why would anyone want to place their physical well being into the hands of an inferior imitation?

Q #9: Do you have replacements parts for my 'old' Little Giant Ladder?

A: We stock genuine replacement parts for Little Giant Ladders, and can get you the exact part you need to service your ladder. You can also have your Little Giant Ladder repaired in our repair shop by a factory trained repairman. Just contact us for more info!

Q #10: What is the return policy?

A: We have a 30 day money-back guarantee on our products which are returned in resalable condition.

Returning a ladder for a refund: The return freight charge will be paid by the customer (which is industry standard) and a restocking fee of 25% will be applied to the returned ladder if it's received in resalable condition. Freight charges tend to be very expensive, (about $30 - $85 each way for the smaller Little Giant Ladders, and $195 - $185 for the larger ladders, including the Little Giant Skyscraper MXZ ladders) so be sure you know what you are getting, and the correct size you need.

Exchanging for a different size: The return freight charge will be paid by the customer, and a restocking fee of 15% will be applied to the returned ladder. Once the returned ladder is received, the replacement ladder will be shipped out Free Freight. Orders that are cancelled after shipment or shipments which are refused by the customer are subject to freight charges as well as a 25% restocking fee. The majority of ladders returned to us are exchanged for the next bigger size. The Model 13 is the most common returned size for an exchange.

A return authorization number is required for all returned ladders, or it will not be accepted. A return authorization number may be obtained by calling or emailing us. Once the ladder is received, the refund will be issued, less any restocking fees. It is recommended you keep the box the ladder was shipped in, in case you need to return it.
